Why solar?
Solar is one of the few products where the harder you look at the math, the better it gets. That's not true of most things you'll buy in your life. I gravitated to this work because I like the feeling of selling something that I'd buy for my own family without hesitation. The day I stop being able to say that honestly is the day I'd leave this industry. So far it hasn't been close.

What I tell nervous customers.
I slow the conversation down. Customers who are nervous have usually been talked at, not talked with. So I ask more questions than I answer. By the second call most of the nervousness has resolved itself, because the customer has talked themselves through their own concerns out loud. My job is to be a calm presence and a source of straight information. The decision is theirs.

An install I'm proud of.
A homeowner in Spruce Grove who'd had two pushy reps at his door in the same month before he called me. He told me on the first call he was tired of being sold to. I sent him the quote, told him to take as long as he needed, and didn't follow up. Three months later he called back and signed. The install was the smoothest of my year because the trust was already built in.
